Why Siyakaka Exists
Siyakaka is a small independent music publication for people who like to know the story behind a song and the night behind a ticket. It is written for listeners who follow records closely, for people deciding which gig to spend an evening on, and for anyone curious about the artists making the sounds they keep replaying.
Who we write for
Some readers arrive after a single track stuck in their head. Others have followed a scene for years and want a second view on a new release. Nothing here assumes you play an instrument, own a large record collection or live near a big venue.
Three strands of coverage
- Music looks at albums, singles, genres and the ideas that connect them, with attention to how a record sounds and why it matters.
- Live Shows covers concerts and festivals from the audience’s side: what a night felt like, how the room worked and what to know before you go.
- Artist Profiles follows musicians through their work, influences and releases, drawing on what they have said and published.
The strands feed one another. A profile makes more sense after hearing the record, and a live review says more when you know where the band came from.
How we work
Articles aim to be useful and honest. Release dates, tour details, track listings and quotes are checked against official artist channels, label announcements, venue listings and the original interviews. Where a detail is rumour or cannot be confirmed, we say so plainly instead of presenting it as settled.
Music news moves quickly. Tours are rescheduled, lineups change and albums get reissued, so older pages are revisited and updated when facts shift.
