Privacy Policy

Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 27, 2026

This policy describes what information is handled when you read siyakaka.com, a site about music, live shows and artist profiles, and what choices you have. The operator is the person or organisation running Siyakaka, and when this page says we, it means that operator.

What servers record when you visit

When you open a review or an artist profile, the servers delivering the page keep ordinary visit logs. An entry can include your IP address, the time of the request, the page you asked for, your browser and device type, and the page that sent you here. We use these logs to keep the site running, to catch errors and abuse, and to see in broad terms which concert reviews and features are being read.

Cookies and similar technology

Siyakaka may use cookies or comparable browser storage. Some help pages load properly. Others, where enabled, count audiences, remember a setting, support advertising, or record that a visitor arrived from a link to a ticket seller, streaming service or music shop so that affiliate attribution works. A cookie set by an ad network or a video player is controlled by that provider, not by us.

Controlling tracking in your browser

You can block or clear cookies, browse privately, or use extensions that limit trackers. Where your browser sends a do-not-track or global privacy signal, we treat it as an opt-out request as far as the tools we use allow. Blocking some storage may change how embedded players or other features behave.

Emails and forms

If you write to [email protected], we receive your address and whatever you include, such as a correction to a gig review or a tip about an artist. We use it to read and answer you, to fix errors and to keep a record of the exchange. We do not sell your messages and will not publish them or your name without asking first.

Newsletters

If Siyakaka offers a mailing list or sign-up form, the details you enter are used only to send what you requested, such as news about new features and profiles. Any mailing will carry an unsubscribe route, and a short email to us will also take you off the list.

Outside services we rely on

A music site often depends on providers outside its control. These can include hosting and delivery networks, analytics tools, advertising and affiliate networks, and embedded content such as video clips, audio players or social posts from artists. They may receive technical details about your visit so their service works, and they handle that data under their own privacy notices.

Embedded audio and video

Where an article embeds a song, a live recording or a video, the provider of that player may set its own cookies or learn that you viewed the page, even if you do not press play. Avoiding the embed or adjusting your browser settings reduces this.

How long information is kept

Raw visit logs are kept only for a short working period, after which they are erased or boiled down to counts that cannot be traced to you. Emails stay in the inbox while they help us answer you, correct an article or meet a legal duty, and are deleted once that need ends.

Asking about your information

Laws in some places let you request a copy of the personal information held about you, ask for corrections or deletion, object to particular uses, and take back consent you gave earlier. To do any of this, email [email protected] and say what you want. Because we must be sure a request really comes from you, we may ask a question or two before acting, and we will answer within whatever period applicable law sets.

Younger readers

Siyakaka is written for a general audience of music fans and is not aimed at children under 13. We do not seek out details from young children through this site. If a child has sent us details, tell us and we will remove them.

Protecting information

We take reasonable steps to guard what we hold, including secure connections and limited access to the inbox. No internet service can be made completely safe, so we cannot promise absolute protection.

Data crossing borders

Providers behind the site may process data in several countries, where rules can differ from those where you live. Using Siyakaka means your information may travel in this way.

Updates to this policy

This page will be rewritten whenever our practices around music coverage, advertising or analytics change in a way that matters. The effective date above shows when the current version began, and continuing to read Siyakaka after a change means you accept the revised text.
